VVOB is largely financed by the Flemish and Belgian Governments.

Head Office

VVOB’s head office in Brussels (Belgium) is subsidised directly by the Flanders Department of Foreign Affairs - Global Challenges Division and indirectly via the administration costs of grants distributed by the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation (DGD).

Programmes

For the execution of the programmes in Cambodia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Rwanda, South Africa, Suriname, Vietnam, Zambia and Zimbabwe, VVOB is subsidised by the DGD. The annual budget of VVOB for each country programme varies between €700,000 and €1,100,000.

For the execution of the programme SchoolLinks, VVOB is subsidised by the Flanders Department of Foreign Affairs - Global Challenges Division. From 2012 this programme receives an annual grant of €130,000.

Other institutional donors

In addition, VVOB regularly receives grants for specific projects from various institutional donors or we ‘pool’ our funds with theirs. Among others, we work or worked with UNESCO in Cambodia, BTC and DFID in Rwanda, the European Union in Zambia, UNICEF and Save the Children in Zimbabwe, and IDB/SLO in Suriname.

We are always looking for opportunities for additional funds from other institutional donors to implement quality education programmes. Please don’t hesitate to contact us through the contact form for more information.
